At First Lutheran Church, we believe membership has several benefits. It helps in maintaining and sustaining the ministries of our church, as well as reinforcing the importance of commitment, responsibility and participation. As a community of members, we all play an important role in keeping the body of the church alive and well. In return, you as an individual member of the church will have your own needs met while being surrounded by your family in Christ.

Periodically each year, during the Sunday morning education hour from 9:45 to 10:30, we offer informative and informal classes to help you decide about membership at First. Classes meet in the basement of the main church building around the corner from the nursery, and are led by one of the pastors or key lay leaders of our congregation.
The purpose of these sessions, which we ask all prospective new members to attend, is to:
- talk about our congregations mission, vision and values,
- talk about some of our Lutheran denomination's beliefs,
- give you a chance to meet other prospective and current members of our congregation,
- inform and invite you to participate in our various ministries and volunteer opportunities through meeting pastors and other ministry leaders.
Next Sessions:
The next new member session is:
- Information Class - meet in the Old Library Room in the basement of the Parish Center, on February 12, at 9:45 am. (next one will be May 12, 2012)
- Reception of New Members - at the service of your choice on Saturday/Sunday, February 18/19. (next one will be May 12/13)
