FLC FOOD STAND AT THE NORTH DAKOTA STATE FAIR -
First Lutheran has a food stand at the North Dakota State Fair, which is held July 23-31 this year.  This effort is a great way to get to know fellow First Lutherans.  It is also an outreach to the community, along with being one of our major fundraisers.  Proceeds from the fairstand go to the FLC Youth, the FLC Women, and the FLC General Fund.  In order for the stand to be successful, volunteers are needed to help set up, work the stand, make the potato salad and pies, much, much more. 
    Also, if your children went to Camp Metigoshe, or will be going, and received the 1/3 off, it is encouraged that those families sign up to work at least one shift.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL at FLC - June 28 - July 2

Register on Monday - June 28  at  9:00 am - Parish Center

Preschool - Grade 1:    9:00 am - 12:00 noon     Monday - Friday  
FLC Staff leading with the theme:  "SonQuest Rainforest Adventure" 
(Preschool students must have been in a 4 year old preschool class this past year.)

Grades 2 - 6:        9:00 am - 3:00 pm     Monday - Thursday  /  9:00 am - 12:00 noon    Friday*
Lake Metigoshe Ministries Day Camp Staff will lead these students. 
Students need to bring a Bible and a sack lunch (every day except Friday).

*      Parents - please be here to pick up your children at 12:00 noon, as the counselors leave at noon to go back to Metigoshe. 
**    Every student participating in Vacation Bible School is asked to bring items for Camp Metigoshe.  These items are used to provide services for students who attend Bible camp at Metigoshe.

Thursday Family Picnic & Program - 6:00 pm, at the Parish Center - July 1
                Families whose last names end with A - N please bring a salad
                Families whose last names end with O - Z please bring a dessert
                First Lutheran will provide hot dogs.

Thursday Night Metigoshe Lock-In (grades 4 - 6) Parish Center  - July 1 - Please have students bring a Bible, PJ's, sleeping bag & pillow, toiletries, and clothes for Friday.  FLC will provide breakfast on Friday.

CHURCH DIRECTORY TIME IS COMING SOON! -
Call Judy Ross (839-7704) if you are willing to help with the upcoming Church directory.  We need volunteers:

• to call and set up appointments for family photos starting in June
• to sit after church to register people for appointments
• to check in families and fill out the form with names and etc. on the photo days to make sure they are correct in the final directory

Olan Mills will be here August 16-21, August 23-28 and September 7-11 for family photo appointments.   Check your calendars to see when you would like to sign-up for your family photos.  We hope to have everyone participate in order to have the complete membership in the directory.

PICNIC IN THE PARK -
Remember to mark your calendars for FLC's Annual Picnic in the Park, which will be held on Wednesday, July 14, in Roosevelt Park, at 6:00 pm.  There will be fun for all!  Watch for more information.

SUMMER OUTDOOR SERVICES -
We are going to have three outdoor services this summer on Sunday, June 20, July 4, and August 15 ( weather permitting).  The Saturday evening services will remain in the Chapel.  Join us!

METIGOSHE MINISTRIES - GO TO CAMP THIS SUMMER!

ELCA SOCIAL STATEMENT - The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, of which we are a member congregation, at its biennial assembly in Minneapolis in late August, took several actions related to human sexuality.  The first was the adoption of a social statement entitled "Human Sexuality:  Gift and Trust"
