SHARED MINISTRY: THREE CONGREGATIONS
SHARE THE MINISTRY
OF THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST

The goal of our shared ministry is to provide opportunities for First Lutheran Church and the congregations of Trinity Lutheran Parish (Glenburn & Lansford) to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ in word and deed, drawing on our unique gifts, and drawing on the leadership of our pastors, GIFTS ministry participants, other congregational leaders, and the Western North Dakota Synod of the ELCA.

Why the Shared Ministry?  First Lutheran Church was seeking to provide mission support to a ministry within the Western North Dakota Synod as a way to further Christian outreach here “at home.”  The congregations of Trinity Lutheran Parish were looking for a congregation in Minot to support their ministry and serve as a bridge between town and country.  As a result, the three congregations began a partnership to strengthen the mission and ministry of First Lutheran Church and Trinity Lutheran Parish. 

The congregations of First Lutheran and Trinity Lutheran Parish seek to mutually support each other by attending each other’s major congregational events.  The members of First Lutheran attend the annual “Roast Beef Dinner” at Glenburn each year.  Also, members of Trinity Lutheran Parish have been invited to the annual First Lutheran Congregational Picnic, held in the summer.

Pastor Heather Brown has served Trinity Lutheran Parish since 2006.  Her background includes ministry overseas in Cairo, Egypt, and youth & education ministry.  She participates in the ministry of First Lutheran Church in recognition of the financial support that First Lutheran Church contributes annually to the ministry of Trinity Lutheran Parish.  She preaches and leads worship at First Lutheran Church one Saturday per month.  She also participates in the scheduled rotation of Holy Communion services performed at Minot area assisted living facilities.  She participates in the WELCA ministry of First Lutheran by taking a turn in the monthly rotation of “Bible Study Leaders.”  She also participates in other WELCA ministries, such as being a special speaker at a monthly gathering. 

Pastor Heather feels privileged to be connected to the ministry of First Lutheran and the parishioners of Glenburn-Lansford are grateful for the support they have received from First Lutheran Church.

Trinity/Lansford will hold their Sunday morning worship at 9:00 AM, and Trinity/Glenburn will worship at 11:00 AM.  The office address is:
