"We Are All Being Brought Back"-In the Beginning... Sometimes we look at the Bible as a history book that contains memories of events long past. But as the Book of Faith, the Bible is as much about helping us remember what God has done in the past SO THAT we are able to recognize TODAY that God is still at work. So we begin by remembering God's awesome work of creation, as we confess in the Creed: "I believe in God the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth...". But as the Small Catechism reminds us, God's creating acts are not limited to a day of ancient pre-history: "...God daily and abundantly provides shoes and clothing, food and drink, house and farm, spouse and children, fields, livestock, and all property-along with all the necessities and nourishment for this body and life." "Creation" is present tense and on-going. Let us so trust and believe, giving thanks and praise to God as God RE-creates First Lutheran Church as we gather again and are all being brought back through death and resurrection.
